Frostbuster Opening Night Results, Wolla Wins $1,000 Payday

Jason Wolla takes the win on the opening night of the 2015 IMCA Frostbuster. Wolla made the long haul from Ray, ND and scored the $1,000 Modified payday on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Southern Iowa Speedway.

Wolla dominated by leading all 22 laps. Hunter Marriott finished the Modified A-Main in second. Despite suffering brake problems in his heat race, Todd Shute finished third in the main event. Scott Dickey and Cole Ferguson rounded out the Top 5.

Racing legend Kenny Schrader finished twelfth after having to qualify through a last chance event.

In the IMCA Stock Car feature, Damon Murty took home the win. It’s his second A-Main victory on the young season. Murty passed Jay Schmidt just past the midway mark for the lead and eventual win. Cayden Carter would also work by Schmidt to finish second. Schmidt settled for second. Independence, IA driver Justin Temeyer crossed the finish line in fourth with Shane Weller fifth.

Danny Thrasher won the IMCA Hobby Stock feature, and Lucas Lamberies was the IMCA Northern SportMod winner.

On Thursday, April 2, the four-day Frosterbuster run comes to the Cedar Valley with a stop at the Benton County Speedway (Vinton, IA). Hot laps are set for 6:15 PM with racing to follow.

On Friday, day three will take the caravan to Marshalltown, and the things will wrap up on Saturday at Boone Speedway. [Read More].
