A Waterloo man has been charged in the stabbing death of his father last month.

Police arrested Rashod D. Aldridge, 26, on a second-degree murder warrant Thursday afternoon (April 23, 2015).

Officers found him in the parking lot of a Waterloo convenience store and took him into custody. He's being held in the Black Hawk County jail on $500,000 bond.

Authorities have been looking for Aldridge since March 20, when they found his father unresponsive in the bathroom of an apartment at 1607 Randolph St.

Medical reports show Roosevelt Aldridge, 50, died from a stab wound to the right thigh. He also suffered defensive wounds to his hands, the reports state.

According to police, Rashod Aldridge admitted to stabbing his father during an altercation. A witness earlier identified the younger Aldridge as having a knife during the fight.
