The legendary 'Weird Al' Yankovic will be bringing his 2018 tour back to Iowa. But Al says these shows will be quite a bit different than you're used to.

I've been a fan of 'Weird Al' for as long as I can remember. He's been cultivating brilliant and memorable pop parodies for nearly 40 years. 'Weird Al' has always been on the pulse of pop culture, poking fun at artists like Michael Jackson ("Eat It," "Fat"), Madonna ("Like A Surgeon"), New Kids On The Block ("The White Stuff"), Red Hot Chili Peppers ("Bedrock Anthem"),  Coolio ("Amish Paradise"), The Backstreet Boys ("eBay"), Chamillionaire ("White & Nerdy") and Robin Thicke ("Word Crimes"), among countless others.

However, 'Weird Al' and his band have also put out an impressive non-parody material over the years, and that's what this upcoming series of shows will focus on. In his own words, Al's 2018 tour will be a drastic change of pace and appeal to a subset of his more hardcore fans.

I, for one, am VERY excited about this. Tickets for all dates will go on sale this Friday (October 20th) at noon. Here are the tour stops nearest to the Cedar Valley:

3/31/18 – Des Moines, IA // Hoyt Sherman Place

4/2/18 – Rochester, MN // Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall

6/9/18 – Clear Lake, IA // Surf Ballroom
