A Waverly man is accused of making threats directed toward the Bremer County Treasurer's office.

According to sheriff's officials, the incident involving Edward White, 73, occurred last week. They said White was apparently upset about his property tax increase when he walked into the treasurer's office and threatened physical violence on Thursday (Aug. 25, 2016).

Authorities arrested White on a charge of first-degree harassment. He was booked into the Bremer County jail and released on a promise to appear in court.
