A Waterloo man was arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly fired shots at his own home.

Marcus Harmon-Wright, 34, was taken into custody Sunday evening. Police were they were called to the area of Mobile and Sumner Streets to investigate a report of shot fired just before 8:30 PM.

According to authorities, Harmon-Wright fired shots at his home during an altercation. They said bullets struck the house, which was occupied at the time, and Harmon-Wright spit in an officer's face while being arrested.

As part of the investigation, officers secured Harmon-Wright's home and later obtained a warrant to search the property. Police said officers located a 9-mm handgun, ammunition, distribution amounts of marijuana, suspected cocaine and large sums of money during the search.

Harmon-Wright was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail on the following charges:

  • Intimidation with a dangerous weapon
  • Felon/prohibited person in possession of a firearm
  • Felon/prohibited person in possession of ammunition
  • Carrying weapons
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to deliver (while in possession of a firearm and within 1,000 feet of a public school)
  • Drug tax stamp violation
  • Assault on a peace officer
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Public intoxication
  • Interference with official acts.

According to police, Harmon-Wright is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to a previous domestic abuse conviction.
