Clayton County authorities have located a West Union man, who was sought for violating the state sex offender registry.

On Tuesday (May 17) the Fayette County Sheriff had put out a request to the public, in hopes of finding 52 year old Keith Taylor of West Union.

Taylor was wanted for Failure to Comply with the Sex Offender Registry 2nd Offense, a “Class D Felony” and 11 counts of Driving While His License is Suspended.

The registry violation investigation began last week, when Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies received a tip from an area citizen of the offender failing to comply with the registry requirement. Taylor was last seen in the West Union area on Monday (May 16).

The sheriff got a tip Tuesday, that Taylor was in Clayton County; the information was passed on, and the Clayton County sheriff found Taylor, taking him into custody.

Taylor was then transferred to the Fayette County jail, where he is being held on $5,000 cash bond.
