Authorities have released the name of the man who presumably drowned in the Cedar River earlier this week.

Officials identified the victim as 60-year-old Clay Moser of Waverly.

According to Waverly police, Moser's body was found around 8:30 AM Monday floating in the water above the dam near Bremer Ave (Iowa Highway 3). Officials said a family member immediately identified the victim, but authorities didn't release his name until all notifications were completed.

After being recovered, the body was transported to the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation. Waverly police said Wednesday the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation positively identified the victim as Moser.

Waverly police did not give any details on the expected cause of death.
