*UPDATE* Mask Mandate Extended in Cedar Falls For 8 More Weeks
Today there are reports of a more than likely 'rapid acceleration' of coronavirus cases being predicted across the nation, and hospitalizations at and all-time high in Iowa, wearing a mask is now more important than ever before.
As we reported in early September, the Cedar Falls City Council passed a mask mandate stating every person in Cedar Falls must wear a face mask. On Monday night, the Cedar Falls City Council voted to extend its mandate through December 9th. The council voted 4-2.
Here's the guidelines according to KWWL:
- In public, as opposed to one's place of residence, when one cannot stay six feet apart from others.
- Inside any indoor public settings, including but not limited to grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, retail stores, other public settings that are not one's residence and when among people who do not live in the same household, and city buildings.
- Outside if maintaining a distance of six feet apart is not possible.
- Using public transportation or private car services.
