Two people have been arrested on theft and burglary charges in Grundy County.

Sheriff's officials said 36-year-old Adam Rees and 32-year-old Ashley Rees, both of Reinbeck, were taken into custody May 12 and charged with second-degree theft and third-degree burglary. They were arrested at a property along County Road D-19 (160th Street), about two miles west of Dike.

According to authorities, the theft charges resulted from the recovery of a stolen vehicle. The burglary charges are related to the recovery of stolen property from a rural residence.

Both suspects were taken to the Grundy County Jail in Grundy Center. Sheriff's officials said Sunday that Adam Rees remains in custody on a $25,000 bond and parole violation warrant. Ashley Rees remains in jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
