When the Iowa State Cyclone's begin playing football this fall, up to 25,000 fans can be in attendance for their first game against Louisiana on September 12. This according to KCCI. Jamie Pollard, the Director of Athletics, stated in a letter to fans that season ticket holders will have the chance to attend the game at Jack Trice Stadium. There will be several COVID-19 mitigation plans in place, including the requirement that fans wear masks or face covering at all times.

This news comes after the New York Times singled out Ames for having the largest COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S. as related to population size. Fans who are still interested in attending a game at home this fall can visit this website for more specifics on the health and safety guidelines for attending a game at Jack Trice. There will also be no tailgating allowed, and fans are encouraged to stay seated as much as possible to avoid contact and interaction with fellow fans and employees. The college also encourages fans to use their own judgment when entering and departing the stadium with regards to crowds.
