Cedar Falls police are asking for the public's help in a homicide investigation.

Authorities are gathering information related to a fatal shooting near the University of Northern Iowa campus last weekend. Officers were called to the College Hill area on a report of shots fired around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 11, 2017).

According to police, one person was killed in the shooting and another was injured. Police said Alex Bullerman, 18, of Waterloo, died from his injuries at a local hospital and Dylan Gehrke, 18, of Waterloo, was treated and released. Both victims were shot once.

The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Olive St. No arrests have been made.

Cedar Falls police are asking anyone who may have information, or witnessed suspicious activity in the College Hill around the time of the shooting, to contact the Investigative Unit at 273-8612.

Investigators believe some vehicles parked in the College Hill area early Saturday morning may have damage related to the shooting. They are also asking those drivers to call Cedar Falls police.
