Police Arrest 3 for Stolen Merchandise in Box

Authorities have arrested 3 people who attempted to steal items from a big box store, using a big box.

On Monday (Jan. 21), the Manchester Police Department received a call from the local Wal-Mart, reporting some possible shoplifters.

Responding officers were told by store management, that 3 people had tried to leave the store, without paying for merchandise, that they were concealing in a large box.

As a result, police arrested 31 year old Hector Lavoz, 21 year old Debonayr Palmer, and 19 year old McKenna Brockmeyer, all of Cedar Rapids.

All three suspects are being charged with Theft-2nd Degree, which is a Class "D" felony; Lavoz was also charged with Driving While his License is Denied, Suspended, or Revoked.
