One Iowa City Has Already Declared A Snow Emergency
Winter doesn't start until days before Christmas... but that's never stopped Mother Nature from dropping significant snow on us before the calendar says it is winter and that Iowans are fair game. We often have snow on or around Thanksgiving for example... but that is still almost ONE month away! The date sure isn't stopping Mother Nature from reeking snow-havoc...
Because of the expected three to five inches of snow beginning later today, the city of Davenport, which is about 2 and a half hours East from Waterloo, has declared a snow emergency from 7 p.m., tonight, to 7 p.m., Thursday.
Closer to home, the Cedar Valley can expect a trace to one inch over the next 24 or so hours.
Kids, I know you were dreaming of a White Halloween, right? It will match your costume nicely, I'm sure.
