Summer is on its way! According to Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation, Old MacDonald's Farm will officially open for the season on May 6th!

Old MacDonald's Farm is a popular petting farm located at Bever Park in Cedar Rapids that is open daily during the summer months. The farm is considered a city landmark because it's over 100-years-old! Some of the animals that guests can visit with include chickens, cows, goats, pigs, lambs, rabbits, and ducks.

In addition to visits with the animals, Old MacDonald's Farm will also play host to lots of other events during the summer months. For example, there are goat yoga classes! Both kids and adults can attend an "unusual and fun" yoga class where you interact with adorable goats. You can also book a private goat yoga party for ages 13 and up from June through August for $150. Group tours and birthday parties are also available to book.

A new addition to Old MacDonald's Farm this year is the Farm Market. The open-air farmers’ market that was held at Noelridge Park is moving to the farm this summer! Those markets will take place every Wednesday night from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. from June 5th through September 25th.

The Play CR brochure for the summer of 2024 lists all sorts of fun activities at Old MacDonald's Farm this summer for both children AND adults. There are gardening classes, 'Farmer for a Day' sessions, art and cooking classes, plus a movie night on September 6th and the annual County Fair on September 28th. See a full list of programs at the farm and find out how to register HERE.

Old MacDonald's Farm will be open from May 6th through September 29th, 2024. The daily hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can get more information about the farm HERE.
