Buchanan County sheriff's officials have released details of a single-vehicle weekend accident that injured the driver.

Authorities said Charles Serrano, 23, of Oelwein, suffered unspecified injuries when he lost control of his SUV on Iowa Highway 150 after serving to miss a deer. The vehicle entered a ditch and rolled, before coming to rest in a timber area at the bottom of a hill.

Serrano was taken to the Oelwein hospital for treatment. He was later cited for driving with a suspended license.

The accident happened just before 6 AM Friday north of Hazleton.
