Two Oelwein residents face charges, both for violating a no-contact order.

At about 12:30am Sunday (Sept. 20), a Fayette County deputy pulled over a vehicle on Hemlock Road, just east of the Fayette City limits.

The driver, 35 year old Kaben Schmelzer, and a passenger, 39 year old Steffeny Rose, both of Oelwein, were taken into custody for Violation of a No-Contact order.

Schmelzer was also charged with Driving with a Suspended Driver's License.
The two were taken to the Fayette County jail and held until their initial court appearance.
