The annual day after Thanksgiving battle between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their traditional college football game, kicks off at 12:00 noon this Friday.

This year, the two teams meet for the 51st time. Nebraska leads the all-time series, 29-18-3. Last year the Hawkeyes pulled off a 27-24 victory for their fifth win in a row over the Cornhuskers. The matchup has been dubbed the “Heroes Game” since 2011, with the Heroes Trophy being awarded to the winner.

This year’s game will be commemorated by the release today of two new officially licensed, limited edition bobbleheads, created for the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum by FOCO, an official licensee and manufacturer of NCAA merchandise.

The two bobblehead commemorate the Iowa vs. Nebraska rivalry, and the Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Iowa State Cyclones rivalry. Each bobblehead features Iowa’s mascot, Herky the Hawk squaring off against his rival mascots, Cy the Cardinal and Herbie the Husker.

Each dual bobblehead is individually numbered to 1,000. The collectables are $60 each plus shipping, and are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store.

"We’re excited to release these two bobblehead commemorating two of the biggest rivalries in college sports, we think these rivalry bobbleheads will become fan favorites for the passionate fan bases of Iowa, Iowa State and Nebraska.” - National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar

Considering the year 2020 has certainly been a memorable one, these bobbleheads could be an extra special addition to any collection.
