NE Iowa Woman Seriously Hurt in Rollover

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a rollover accident that put a Manchester woman in the hospital with serious injuries.

It happened at about 5am Thursday (March 17), on Highway 18, 2 miles west of West Union. A westbound car driven by 26 year old Rachel Montes of Manchester, went into a ditch and rolled several times.

Montes was ejected from the car, and suffered life-threatening injuries. She was initially taken to the West Union hospital, then airlifted to Gunderson Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. A condition report was not available.

The vehicle, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, was totaled.

Charges are still pending.
