The COVID-19 pandemic has sadly taken another fun gathering event off the calendar for 2020. My Waterloo Days will no longer take place June 1-7 in downtown Waterloo. In a press release to the media (including this radio station), Executive Director of Main Street Waterloo, Jessica Rucker said the following:

After much consideration and discussion, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 My Waterloo Days. The safety of our community members, local businesses, and those who attend the event has always been our main focus. My Waterloo Days involves a great deal of preparation, and due to the interference in planning that COVID-19 has caused, we felt as though it would be irresponsible for us to continue to move forward with the event.

Despite this, their will be several new virtual events that will happen including a virtual parade, a self reporting fun run that will include a costume contest, a virtual car show, kids talent show, and Facebook live entertainment.

K98.5 is still looking forward to being involved in many of these virtual events, check back for more info!
