A high-speed chase in Black Hawk County ended when a motorcycle crashed into an Iowa State Patrol car and sent one man to the hospital Saturday night (April 16, 2016).

The Iowa State Patrol identified the motorcyclist as Dylan Jacobson, 34, of Waterloo.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the pursuit began around 9 p.m. when a trooper tried to stop a motorcycle near the Interstate 380/U.S Highway 218/U.S. Highway 20 mix-master in Waterloo. Authorities said the motorcycle reached speeds of 100 miles per hour as the pursuit continued on U.S. Highway 218 north through the city.

As the chase entered Cedar Falls on Iowa Highway 57 (First St.), authorities said the motorcycle slammed into the back of an Iowa State Patrol car on the Cedar River bridge. Jacobson suffered unknown injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Officials with the Iowa State Patrol said charges are pending against Jacobson upon his release from the hospital.
