Man Crashes Stolen Garbage Truck into CF Business

Cedar Falls Police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing a garbage truck, and ramming it into a local business.

At about 1am today (Thursday), authorities were summoned by a burglary alarm to Wheels Unlimited Auto Sales, located on Center Street in Cedar Falls.

Responding officers found damage to the front of the building; they surrounded the business, until a K-9 could be called in from the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office.

Less than half-an-hour later, the dog entered the building and found 34 year old Curt Widen, inside.

The stolen garbage truck, used to break into the business, was discovered nearby.

Widen is being charged with first degree theft and third degree burglary.
