Courtroom proceedings have begun for one of two men arrested in the shooting of a 9-year-old Waterloo boy last year.

Mar'yo Lindsey, Jr., 21, and Aundrey Roberts, Jr., 23, were arrested on multiple charges after a house in the 1200 block of W. Mullan Ave. was sprayed with bullets on Dec. 15, 2016. One of the projectiles struck Anton Kincaid in the hip while the child was lying on a coach inside the home.

Testimony in Lindsey's trial began in Black Hawk County District Court on Wednesday (March 22, 2017). He's pleaded not guilty to charges of going armed with intent, willful bodily injury, carry weapons, possession of weapons by a felon, and intimidation with a weapon.

Roberts' trial is scheduled to start late next month. The charges against him include willful bodily injury and intimidation with a weapon. He, too, has pleaded not guilty.
