An Oelwein school bus was involved in a traffic accident this (Monday) morning, on the west edge of town.

According to Oelwein School Superintendent Josh Ehn, the accident happened on the "Blue Route" bus near Woodlawn cemetery. The bus was traveling east on West Charles Street, when it was struck in the side by a vehicle turning east onto West Charles.

No one was injured, as the accident was minor. The students that were on board the bus, were transferred to another bus, and taken to school. The bus sustained minor damage. There was no information regarding the other driver.

According to Superintendent Ehn, the school will investigate how the accident happened, then use the incident as a learning opportunity.

The Oelwein Police Department is investigating the accident, as well.
