Local Man Arrested on 5 Drug-Related Warrants

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on numerous warrants regarding illegal drugs.

Around 5:45pm Sunday (Feb. 19), 36 year old Esteban Carrasco of Oelwein was arrested on five Fayette County warrants, on the original charges of Controlled Substance violations, and Failure to Affix a state Drug tax stamp. The arrest was made in the 100 block of 1st Avenue NW.

Just before 2pm Sunday, 43 year old Renee Snay of Oelwein was taken into custody on 2 Buchanan County warrants. The original charges were Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The arrest was made after an interaction with an officer in the 100 block of 1st Avenue SE.

At about 9:30pm Monday (Feb. 20), police pulled over a car in the 200 block of East Charles. 27 year old Jose Sanchez of West Des Moines was given a citation for Driving While his License is Suspended.

And shortly after 10:30pm Sunday, 45 year old Heather Hamilton of Oelwein was cited for Having an Open Container of Alcohol as a Passenger in a vehicle. The citation was given during a traffic stop in the ten block of 1st Avenue SE.
