The National Weather Service in Des Moines says that the heat index for Independence Day will be in the 90s throughout the state.

Will records be broken? Not even close. The record-high for the 4th of July in Waterloo is 109*! That record was set in 1911.

The normal high temp for the first week of July in Waterloo is around 85*. Last year on Independence day, it was 90* in Waterloo.

Avoid prolonged exposure to the heat! Find shade! Drink lots of Water!

...and it's going to stay warm for the next week!
