A new study was recently done to find out the most popular ice cream flavors in each state (because there isn't anything more important to study apparently). Although chocolate and vanilla took the top spot among most states, it was not as popular as I thought it would be. There were some strange choices for different states, including Iowa. Here is the list of the top ice cream flavors for each state:

Chocolate- Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Indiana, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, and Rhode Island.

Vanilla- Hawaii, Washington, California, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, South Carolina, New Jersey, New York, and New Hampshire.  And also Washington D.C.

Brownie-  Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts.

Malt-  Wyoming, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Strawberry- Alaska and Georgia.

Oreo- Arkansas and Illinois.

Cookie dough- Wisconsin and Michigan.

Salted caramel-  Montana.

Coffee- Idaho.

S'mores- Connecticut.

Bourbon-  Kentucky.

Unicorn, which is vanilla ice cream mixed with food coloring and glitter, -Nevada.

The study also found that trendiest flavors in the country are horchata, unicorn, sesame, salted caramel, and whiskey. The least favorite are hazelnut, bacon, and honey.
