My top 3 favorite holidays each year are July 4th, St Patrick's Day, and my Birthday. On those 3 days, you're free to crack open a Busch Light before noon and no one will judge you for it!

Maybe that 3rd one isn't exactly a 'holiday' but I still get excited about birthdays, even at 33 years old. If you have a birthday in August, congratulations as August is only 4 months away and you can celebrate as much as your heart desires. If your birthday is in August, there's a good chance you know someone else who has a birthday during that month.

Did you know the most popular birth month in Iowa is August?

Now, I'll be the first person to admit that I'm no math expert. To be honest, it was my worst subject in school...but if my Iowa math is correct, November is 9 months away from August. It takes around 9 months for most women to have a baby. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Iowans are 'getting it on' during November more often than at any other time of the year! Actually, it appears that most Americans are 'getting it on' when the weather starts to get cold. August is the most popular birth month for Iowa and 35 other states.

If July and September are the 2nd and 3rd most popular birth months, that means Iowans really 'enjoy the company of another person' from October to December, which makes sense.

That's around the holidays, it's a magical time of the year for a lot of people, and people tend to want to get into relationships around the holiday season, even if it's only because they're sick of the family asking them when they're going to 'find someone.' I don't pretend to be cool or know all of the slang/lingo the kids these days are using but I do believe many young people refer to this time of the year as 'cuffing season.'

When the weather starts to turn cold, Iowans turn up the heat, and they aren't using a thermostat if you catch my drift.

Iowa's Most Popular Baby Names of 2023

In 2023, Iowans were searching up the perfect name for their newest additions to the family. Based off of Google Trends data, officials were able to determine the most popular names in the Hawkeye State.
