Iowa Now On Pennsylvania Quarantine Travel List

Iowa has been added to the list of states Pennsylvania has included on its travel quarantine list.

When traveling from Iowa to Pennsylvania in the near future you will be "expected" to self-quarantine for 14 days. Three other states are included in the mandatory order as their COVID-19 cases increase. These states include Delaware, Kansas and Oklahoma. So says Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf in the York, PA Daily Record.

The story from the Daily Record says "travelers are advised to voluntarily self-quarantine for 14 days upon entering the state. If they get tested while in Pennsylvania, they should self-quarantine until the results come in. If positive, they should self-isolate for 10 days."

Single-day cases in Pennsylvania surpassed 800 on Saturday, putting these states into the self-quarantine category.

State officials in Pennsylvania say their state's actual number of Coronavirus infections is likely higher than the confirmed case count because, as you've likely heard, people with symptoms of the virus don't always feel sick and not everyone with COVID-19 gets tested.

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah are the other states on Pennsylvania's quarantine travel list.

A state makes this list on a rolling seven-day average with these two factors:

• Having 10% of COVID-19 diagnostic tests come back positive
• Having at least 10 daily positive tests for every 100,000 residents

This is a far cry from the early days of the pandemic when Pennsylvania was said to have a lower hospitalization rate than many other states.
