Well, this is...disappointing.

WalletHub just ranked 182 of the largest cities in the U.S. from most to least fun. The study looked at criteria such as entertainment & recreation, nightlife, and costs.  And, let's just say Iowa isn't exactly considered a hotbed of activity.

Cedar Rapids was rated #142 out of 182 (#172 in "Entertainment & Recreation, #136 in "Nightlife & Parties). Des Moines didn't fare much better, charting at #103.

Omaha came in at #37--in fairness, it is a pretty cool city, if you can block out the whole "being in Nebraska" thing. Minneapolis was rated #29 and Chicago was #6. So, at least you won't have to go too far

But...things could always be worse. Pearl City, Hawaii finished dead last at #182. Las Vegas was ranked #1 overall (I bet it took LOTS of research to come to that conclusion). Get the full list of rankings here.

Clearly, these analytics geeks have never tailgated at Kinnick or seen the Butter Cow up close. For shame!
