One of the most famous holes in golf.

I texted a good friend of mine (who follows golf a LOT more closely than I do) where the island green of the Par 3, 17th hole at the TPC Sawgrass ranks as far as the most famous holes in all of golf. His response, "Prob #1".  The TPC Sawgrass is the home for The Players Championship and in some circles regarded as the 5th major tournament of the year.

Hitting a hole-in-one is a feat within itself, but to hit one on the most famous hole in golf is legendary. That's what happened in the first round of the 2019 Players Championship by golfer Ryan Moore. Not only did he hit the small island green, he didn't even the grass. He slam dunked it. The ball went from tee to hole.

The odds of hitting a hole-in-one is 12,500 to 1. See Moore's impressive shot here.

The island green is so notorious for errant shots that Vegas even puts wagers on how many golf balls will end up in the drink over the course of the 4 day tournament. This was this years predictions compared to past years.

Yeah... I'd take the over.
