Canadian country duo High Valley have shared, "Single Man," the lead single off their upcoming sophomore album. The upbeat track falls right in line with the positive vibe that brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel have offered up in their music thus far.

Readers can press play above to hear "Single Man," a catchy tune drive by a hand-clap beat. The Rempels say the track isn't what listeners might thing based on its title.

"I wanted to be brutally honest,” Brad Rempel explains of the songwriting process for "Single Man," adding that the song's theme isn't celebrating the bachelor lifestyle: “Most importantly, I wanted to write a song that said, ‘I promise you I wouldn’t be able to find any single man on this planet that if he saw what I had — my wonderful wife and my family — he wouldn’t say, 'Dude! Can we please trade places?''"

Written by Rempel with Derick Southerland and Jordan Schmidt, the lyrics lay out that single-guy life in the first verse: "Well, a single man goes wild and crazy on a Tuesday night / Stays out 'til 2AM and don't think twice / Burns through money and his pickup lines ..."

In the song's chorus, High Valley contrast that scene with the bliss of married life: "But I don't know a single man who'd pick the kick of whiskey over your kiss / Take a neon light over a night like this / Stay young forever over growing old with you," the Rempels harmonize. "I don't know a single man / That ain't out looking for what I got / That wouldn't die to be where I am / No, I don't know / No, I don't know a single man."

High Valley were nominated for New Duo or Group of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards, the second time that they've been up for the honor. The award went to Lanco ahead of the upcoming awards show, which is scheduled for Sunday (April 7).

Further details about High Valley's next record have yet to be announced.
