Some background on Miller from Katie & The Honky-Tonks Facebook page
Roger is a huge figure in our local music community. He started playing music in his father's band at the age of 6. He toured with several prominent Nashville musicians in the 70s (Roger Miller, Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Paycheck, etc.). He then moved to Cedar Falls to raise a family with his wife Kathy. He joined the (very popular) group, "Milk and Honey", and has been a member of this "Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" band ever since. He's mentored and supported countless musicians. He runs the "Jump Start Academy", which provides aspiring players free lessons and a pedal steel guitar to use for a year.
