On Tuesday, 8/13, a 4.83" diameter hail stone crashed into the Earth in Bethune, CO -- that's bigger than a softball! It weighed over HALF A POUND.

Members of the National Weather Service and the Colorado State University Climate Center reported it as being the largest in the state of Colorado. The previous record was 4.5".

The U.S. record is 8″ and that was in South Dakota in 2010.
