Garth Brooks Sets Pearl Harbor Acoustic Shows

Garth Brooks has announced two upcoming performances to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attacks that took place at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941.

Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood will perform two back-to-back shows at Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu at 6:30PM and 10PM on Dec. 10. The performances will support Pacific Historic Parks, with 100 percent of the net proceeds distributed to four historic organizations whose mission is to preserve the legacy of Pearl Harbor. Those organizations include the WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument (USS Arizona Memorial), Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park and the Battleship Missouri Memorial.

"I can speak for Miss Yearwood when I say it is a privilege to be a part of honoring our nation’s fighting men and women who have and continue to serve our great nation," Brooks says in a press release. "We look forward to a night packed with music, laughter and respect. We invite all to join us and raise as much money as we can to support these memorials that honor our past and our future."

The concerts will be special acoustic shows in the format of Brooks' shows at the Wynn in Las Vegas, featuring just him and Yearwood, with Brooks playing acoustic guitar. The shows top off a weeklong schedule of events commemorating the attack on Pearl Harbor, which led to America's entry into World War II.

"The 75 Commemoration embraces our respect for all men and women who have answered the call of duty for the last seven decades and especially honors those whose sacrifice protected our nation and secured victory during WWII," Admiral Thomas Fargo, Chair of the 75th Commemoration Committee, says. Tickets for the two shows go on sale Saturday, Oct. 22 at 10AM HST exclusively via Ticketmaster.com, or by calling Ticketmaster Express at 1-800-745-3000 or 1-866-448-7849. There is an eight-ticket limit per purchase, and there will be no ticket sales at the venue box office or Ticketmaster outlets on Oct. 22. All tickets will cost $69.00, plus a $6.25 service charge.
