Fire destroyed an Evansdale home early Friday.

Crews were called to the single-story structure at 816 Colleen Ave. around 4 AM. When they arrived, the house was fully engulfed.

According to Evansdale Fire Chief Ryan Phillips, the home was occupied at the time of the fire. He said the man who lived there escaped without any injuries.

Phillips described the house as a "total loss".

Officials didn't immediately know what sparked the fire. According to Phillips, the State Fire Marshal was at the scene Friday morning investigating the cause.
