An Elgin man wanted for allegedly violating his probation on a third-offense possession of marijuana conviction is facing additional drug charges.

Fayette County sheriff's deputies were sent to 400 Almira Street in Elgin around 7 PM Wednesday to check on a wanted suspect. After they arrived, deputies found 35-year-old Jaylani Whiteside hiding in a closet at the residence.

Authorities say Whiteside was taken into custody without incident. He was additionally charged with third-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, third-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interference with official acts.

White was booked into the Fayette County Jail.
