After a barrage of radio, TV, online and print ads and aggravating social media posts that may have cost you a few friendships...it's finally here. The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November--Election Day. Regardless of which candidate or political party you lean towards, voting is a very important right granted to every American.

We often forget the power we can wield simply by choosing a candidate. The ability to make change is in our hands, but the voting process can be confusing for some--I'm here to simplify it a bit.

There are multiple polling places in your community where you can cast your ballot. Visit the Iowa Secretary of State's website, enter your zip code followed by your home address to locate the nearest precinct. Most polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Not sure who to vote for? We've helped you out with that, too. Check out our Election Cheat Sheet.
