Monday's snow storm made for some very dangerous driving conditions, especially in Central Iowa. Whiteout conditions resulted in dozens of cars being involved in a massive pileup on Interstate 35. One of those vehicles was a bus carrying members of the 'Dancing With the Stars' live tour, which was en route to a performance in Ames.

"Given this unforeseen accident, and the fact that the safety and health of our cast and crew is of the utmost importance, tonight's show at Stephens Auditorium in Ames, IA has been canceled," a statement on the Dancing With the Stars Live Instagram account said.

According to KCCI-TV in Des Moines, there were as many as 70 vehicles involved in the crash. Authorities say the much of the damage was caused by drivers trying to enter the freeway and crashing into existing accidents. One person was killed and at least five others were hospitalized.

Some areas of the state received 7+ inches of snow, with more winter weather looming.
