With the holidays right around the corner, the Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls is starting off the season early by starting their Red Kettle Campaign earlier this year. As I am sure most know, the shopping season is going to be impacted due to the pandemic this year, basically meaning less in store shopping (there are not even many places open for Black Friday this year) and more online shopping. Not only are stores going to be taking a hit with sales but so will the Salvation Army bell ringers. With less shoppers out, there will be a lack in donations to help get presents, food and shelter to those in need during the holiday season.

According to KWWL, the Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls is trying to curb that decrease by starting their Red Kettle Campaign early... meaning this week! While there will still be bell ringers starting November 9th through the holiday season, you do not have to wait to donate and help those in need during this time. Especially with the pandemic, job loss and economy the need for donations this year is even larger. So you can donate online right now to the Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls and lend a helping hand early this year.

I know times are tough but let's remember the giving spirit of the holiday season.
