UNI guard AJ Green will be returning to the Panthers for the 2020-21 season.

The Cedar Falls native has withdrawn his name from the 2020 NBA Draft, UNI athletic officials announced Wednesday. The 6-foot-4 junior proceeded through the early portion of the draft process without an agent, which allowed him to maintain his college eligibility.

When he declared for the draft in April, Green indicted he wanted to get feedback from professional teams on how he can improve his game.

The 2020 Missouri Valley Conference Larry Bird Player of the Year, averaged 19.7 points per game while leading UNI to a 25-6 record and the league's regular season title. Green started all 31 games.

Last season, Green shot 43 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. He also made 92 percent of his free throw attempts, going 111-for-121 at the line.

Green's decision to remove his name from the NBA Draft comes just days ahead of the Aug. 3 deadline.
