UNI Panthers End Season With Win, Earn #2 Seed for MVC Tournament

The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team closed our their 2017 regular season with a 3-0 win at Drake Saturday (11/18/2017) at Knapp Center in Des Moines.

UNI won by set scores of 25-17, 28-26, 25-19.

UNI (25-7 overall, 15-3 MVC) defeated Drake for the 42nd consecutive time and head coach Bobbi Petersen improved to 35-0 all-time vs. Drake.

Bri Weber tallied a match-high 14 kills and Karlie Taylor notched her 22nd double-double of the season with 12 kills (.308) and 15 digs.

The 2017 Missouri Valley Conference championship tournament is up next for the Panthers. It runs November 23-25 in Normal, IL. The Panthers earned the No. 2 seed, and they will receive a bye into the semifinals. UNI will play Friday, November 24 at 5:00 PM. Their opponent will be either No. 3 Illinois State or No. 6 Valparaiso.
