Top-ranked Wartburg (9-0 overall)went 2-0 during the first day of the 2016 National Duals in Fort Wayne, IN. The Knights are seeking their sixth straight title.

The Wartburg Knights shutout their first round opponent Augustana (Ill.) 38-0. During their second round, the Knights put down No. 10 SUNY-Cortland, 37-0. With the two wins, the Knights will now face No. 4 seed Roger Williams in the semifinals.

In the other semifinal match-up, Concordia-Moorhead and Wabash face off. Each team played the role of spoiler in the other half of the bracket. Concordia took down third-seeded UW-La Crosse 18-17, and Wabash eliminated No. 2 Augsburg 25-15.
