Top 10 Set For Marshalltown’s World Nationals, Last Chance Heats Set

Ten drivers have been locked themselves into Saturday night's World Nationals $10,000 to win A-Main at Marshalltown Speedway. The Last Chance Heat races are set.

Friday night's modified qualifying process had each driver compete in two heat races. A random draw determined round one's starting line-up. Round two saw the starting grind flipped. Points were awarded for each finish. The top ten in points locked themselves into the World Nationals $10,000 to win A-Main.

When the dust settled, it was Terry Phillips that emerged with the number one spot at 240 points. Richie Gustin finished the night second in points (228 pts). Jordan Grabouski (221 pts), Kelly Shryock (216 pts), and Ethan Dotson (207 pts) rounded out the top five. The back half of the top ten included Kyle Brown (204 pts), Kyle Strickler (204 pts), Jesse Dennis (199 pts), Joel Rust (197 pts), and Jimmy Gustin (197 pts).

The IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods ran a complete show awarding $1,000 to the winner. Damon Murty scored the IMCA Stock Car win, and Clint Luellen was the IMCA SportMod winner.

The IMCA Hobby Stocks ran for a $500 to payday, and Shannon Anderson won the that main event.

The IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SprtMods, and IMCA Hobby Stocks will return for the final night of racing. The last chance heat races for the Modifieds and the $10,000 to win World Nationals will headline Saturday's racing program.

There are five last chance heat races set for Saturday's program.
