Now that spring football drills have come to an end for the UNI Panthers, fans can look ahead to the 2017 season. UNI athletic officials have announced the start times for the team's five home games.

The UNI-Dome opener against the Cal Poly Mustangs on Sept. 9 kicks-off at 4 p.m. UNI last played the Mustangs in 2015, beating them 34-20 in San Luis Obispo, Calif. The Panthers hold a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams.

Following back-to-back road games wrapped around on off week, UNI hosts Western Illinois for Homecoming on Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. The Panthers entertain Youngstown State on Family Weekend two weeks later, an Oct. 21 battle that kicks-off at 1 p.m. UNI is 12-3 against the Penguins when playing in Cedar Falls.

The Panthers enter the final month of their regular-season with a Nov. 4 home game against the South Dakota Coyotes at 1 p.m. The final contest on UNI's 2017 schedule is Nov. 18, a Senior Day battle against Indiana State at 4 p.m.

Head coach Mark Farley is entering his 17th season at the helm for the Panthers after becoming UNI’s all-time wins leader in 2016. UNI is 63-22 in Cedar Falls against the opponents on its 2017 home schedule.

Despite losing 11 starters from the 2016 squad, the Panthers return a strong core of veteran athletes.

The Panthers wrapped up spring drills with their final practice of April on Saturday (April 22, 2017).
