The Richmond Spiders posted an 82-67 win over the UNI men's basketball team, snapping the Panthers' five-game winning streak on Saturday (Dec. 5).

Playing the first of seven-straight games away from Cedar Falls, UNI scored just 28 first-half points -- the lowest output of any half this season -- and trailed 11 points at intermission.

Richmond (5-3 overall) drained 13 three-pointers and Terry Allen led all scorers with 21 points.

Three players reached double-figure scoring for UNI (5-2 overall) led by Matt Bohannon's 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point land. Paul Jesperson knocked a trio of threes and scored 13 points with six rebounds. Wes Washpun tallied 10 points and a team-high six assists.

Richmond led by as many at 13 points in the first half at 30-17. UNI used a 6-0 run to trim the lead to 30-23, but could not get the margin under seven before the intermission. Richmond led at the break, 39-28.

Playing on their home floor at the Robins Center, the Spiders continued their torrid shooting in the second half as they drained 7-of-12 from 3-point land in the final 20 minutes. Richmond led by as many as 22 points at 69-47. Richmond drained 13 three-pointers and finished the game shooting 52 percent on three-pointers and 53.6 percent overall from the field.
