According to Coach Mark Farley, the Spring Game will be an abbreviated version of a normal game. Using a running clock, the Panthers will scrimmage offense against the defense. A specialized scoring system will be used.

On Monday, Farley said several starters were held out of contact drills this spring for precautionary reasons. The focus this spring has been improving the passing game and developing a defensive unit that was hit hard by graduation.

The spring football game is part of UNI’s “Panther Weekend”, which also features two events on Saturday, April 30: the inaugural Run-4-UNI at 8 a.m., and the "Rally in the Valley"  from 5 to 9:30 p.m. in the McLeod Center.

Participants of the Run-4-UNI race across campus can pick-up their registration packets at the Northwest entrance of the UNI-Dome during the Spring Game. Also on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., fans can enter the Northeast doors of the McLeod Center to preview items that will be auctioned off during Saturday "Rally in the Valley" event.

The UNI ticket office will be open during the spring football game for season ticket purchases. For more information on football season tickets, call 319-273-4849 or visit UNITix at www.UNITIX.uni.edu.
