The head football coach for the Union Knights is up for a national award, but he needs your votes.

Coach Joe Hadachek was nominated for the US Cellular Most Valuable Coach award. This is a national contest that is powered by fan votes. After a two months of voting, Coach Hadachek has made it to the final 15. A win will help the school program and put the head coach on TV.

The top two vote-getting coaches will see their school awarded with a $5,000 donation in his honor. Those top two coaches will be recognized nationally live on ESPN during the Under Armour All-America Game, a national high school all-star game on January 1, 2017 in Orlando.

We all love our individual schools, but how cool would it be if the entire Northeast Iowa high school football community joined forces to recognized one of our own... nationally. Please take a moment to help shine the spotlight on a great program in our community and high school here in Iowa.

To vote, you can visit the US Cellular Most Valuable Coach web site.

Now these amazing coaches need your support until voting closes on November 18. Be sure to vote daily for your favorite. The top two coaches will be honored at the Under Armour All-America Game live on ESPN, plus earn $5,000 for their schools."

This final round of voting closes November 18, 2016.
