Tyler Droste is $1,000 richer. Droste won the caution free IMCA Modified main event on April 22, 2017 at the Independence Motor Speedway.

Droste started on the pole, and he took command of the race at the drop of the green flag. Troy Cordes hounded Droste throughout most of the 25-lap A-Main, but Cordes had to settle for second. Hunter Marriott started 17th and put on a great show during the non-stop A-Main to finish third. Janae Gustin advanced five spots to finish fourth. JD Auringer rounded out the top five.

Jarod Weepie took the lead to start the IMCA Stock Car feature. Justin Temeyer, who started seventh slipped paste Weepie for the lead completing lap six. Despite to caution flags, Temeyer was able to race off to the win. Tom Schmitt, Lyann Panos, Matt Hudspeth, and Cole Mather raced two and three wide for second. Schmitt managed to beat his challengers to finish second. Panos, Hudspeth, and Mather rounded out the top five.

The IMCA SportMod 15-lap A-Main was a nail-bitter. Tony Olson led the field to the green flag. Tyler Soppe, Joey Schafer, and Kyle Olson put on a great show battling Tony Olson for the lead. Schaefer wrestled the lead away from Tony Olson. Soppe stole the lead on the next lap. Schaefer applied pressure on Soppe, and took back the lead as the field took the white flag, but it was Soppe who was first to the checkered. Schaefer finished a close second. Kyle Olson and Tony Olson finished third and fourth respectively. Tom Stark rounded out the top five.

The IMCA Hobby Stock feature went flag-to-flag. Justin Hanson and Daniel Wauters each shared time at the front. August Bach followed in toe behind the battle for the lead. Benji Irvine patiently worked his way by the top three to take the lead on lap 13 and raced off to the win. Hanson finished second, and Bach was third. Wauters held on fourth, and Shawn Kuennen finished fifth.

Brad Cole took the lead in the Indee Car main event on lap three, and he was first to the checkered flag. Matt Dugan, Russ Olson, Brady Kohrs, and Erick Knutsen completed the top five.

Next week the Independence Motor Speedway kicks of the battle for the 2017 track championships. The Burco Sales Weekly Racing Series Season Open is set for Saturday, April 29th. All six classes will hit the track that night.
