Troy Cordes led all twenty-five laps in route to winning a $1,000 payday during the Big Albert Auto September Spectacular at the Independence Motor Speedway. In all, 115 cars check in for the first running of the Big AASS Show.

Cordes put on a command performance grabbing the win. Despite a series of yellow flags early in the IMCA Performance Bodies Modifieds, Cordes never really felt pressure besting a 35-car field. Darin Duffy started ninth, and cut his way through the field to finish second. Kaleb Bentley came from the eleventh starting spot to finish third. B-Main winners Scott Hogan and Joe Docekel rallied to finish fourth and fifth respectively.

Tony Olson scored the win in the IMCA Albert Auto SportMod A-Main, making it his 28th sanctioned win on the year. Jake Morris applied a lot of pressure, but had to settle for second. The drive of the night came from Tyler Soppe who started 27th to finish third. Brian Koffman and Doug Burkhead rounded out the top five.

Cole Mather recently bought the car of the IMCA Burco Sales Stock Car track champion at the Independence Motor Speedway, Tom Schmitt, and he made the purchase pay off winning the Stock Car feature event. Ironically enough, it was Schmitt who challenged Mather for the win. Schmitt finished second. Jay Schmidt and John Oliver Jr. put on a good show coming through the pack to complete the top five.

Quinton Miller and Benji Irvine put on an outstanding show for the IMCA Christie Door Company Hobby Stock main event. After battling the entire twenty laps, it was Miller who edged Irvine for the win. Justin Hansen was a close third followed by Neal Miller and Brian Happel.

Don Erger won the RCZ Enterprises Indee Car A-Main.

The 2016 racing season has come to an end at the Independence Motor Speedway. Promoter Dana Benning and his entire crew would like to thank everyone who came and supported the track during the season. The annual banquet is set for November 19th. Details will be fourth coming.
