Brown Wins Second Frostbuster at Chilly Marshalltown

Kyle Brown continued his hot streak on a cold night in Marshalltown. Brown had to hold of Josh Gilman and his father David Brown for the Frostbuster win on Friday, April 8, 2016.

Brown bested the modified field on night one of the 2016 Frostbuster tour last week at Southern Iowa Speedway. Wet weather forced officials to move the remaining three nights of the race dates to this week. Although dry, it was a cold affair as it was 36 degrees at the start of the night.

It was an exciting battle on Friday at the Marshalltown Speedway. Kyle Brown had to hold off Gilman and David Brown for the Modified win. Gilman settled for second. David Brown finished third. Tim Ward started eighteenth and rallied to come home fourth.  Ronn Lauritzen rounded out the top five after starting eleventh.

Other winners on the night included: Donavon Smith (Stock Car), Randy Roberts (SportMod), Dustin Elliott (Hobby Stock), and Josh May (Mod Lite).

Night three of the IMCA Frostbuster moves to Boone Speedway on Saturday, and the four-race tour wraps up Sunday at Benton County Speedway.
